Good Vibrations

 Sound Healing

Everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration, including our bodies. Sound is vibration that can be translated by the delicate structures of our inner ear, but it moves more than just those tiny receptors. It is part of the spectrum of energy vibrations that affect us on the mental, physical, and spiritual levels. Long ago shamans recognized the power of sound when they first used chants and drumming to heal people. In ancient Egypt, Greece, and India, the use of sound and music for healing was a highly developed sacred science. Sonic vibration has been one way of experiencing the energy of the universe for much of humanity‚s history.

When the vibrations of our physical and spiritual bodies are out of harmony it can cause disease. Sound healing gently massages the molecules back into the right places, clearing blockages and restoring harmony. Ancient healing systems such as Chinese medicine and Indian Ayurveda associate specific musical notes with subtle-energy systems of the body, such as in yoga where particular notes of music correspond to each of the seven chakras. In Tibet, priests have long used bells and bowls over and around the body to tune and clear the energy centers. Chimes and tuning forks are other tools that have been used to heal not only the body but the energy in a room as well.

Knowing that sound has the power to heal, we should also try to remember that sounds from modern life can have a negative affect. Choosing silence over discord may help us maintain a state of equilibrium. As we seek soothing and harmonizing sounds to surround us, we may be doing more than creating a balm for the noise of the world. We may actually be performing an act of self-healing that connects us with one of the most basic vibrations of the universe.

Sound Therapy with Horses

Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls
For Healing and Empowerment

We began working with the Crystal Bowls in 2005 and though other cultures have been using vibrational healing for centuries, little Scientific information was available to substantiate the physical effects it had.  With each workshop we are learning more about the energetic effects on our health and wellbeing, and through scientific research being done we are finding the valuable links between ourselves and vibratory resonance.

It seems that each time we play the bowls, participants want more and report to feel an inner sense of peace and calm. The sound vibration effects each one of us on a cellular level and seems to bring a harmonious resonance to each of the various energy centers throughout the entire body.  We have also found that the bowls significantly help enhance the deeply personal experience with the horses so we have included the crystal bowls with some of the various workshops.

Crystal bowls are made of crushed and powdered quartz crystals that are dropped into centrifugal force spinning container and ignited to approximately 4000 degrees centigrade. This process blends the particles. The resulting bowl is a synthesized form of absolute timbre, which is able to send out a tone one can hear for almost 2000 feet.

Quartz crystal singing bowls are said to be one of the most powerful methods for healing on spiritual, emotional, and physical levels.  The use of crystal bowls magnify the principle of vibrational healing through sound.

The initial effect of playing crystal bowls helps relax they body and mind.  Once calmness is restored, the sound frequencies stimulate the chakras, brain, endocrine glands, and nervous system.

Testimonials

I loved how you designed the flow of exercises, rituals, and experiences and I felt so supported by you and the horses to live in my heart.  I know energetically I have been changed profoundly.

D. Clements Mamaroneck, NY

Wow I just finished the intensive week there at  Epona Ridge with the Horses, cats and of course Barbara.......

Thank you, I wasn't sure before I started working with the horses that they could possibly react to me in ways that were significant only to me..........Much to my amazement they did over and over give me exactly what I needed...........It could be the same horse with different participants and each participant was given exactly what they needed, different behavior for each of us........

I am amazed and grateful to experience this for myself.... I will be there again that is for sure..........
