During these retreats, wellness occurs experientially within the body where personal blocks to wellbeing reside.   There are many different modules both with and without horses that are woven together to help open participants to listening within themselves.

For the work done with horses, no previous horse experience is necessary.   All work is done safely from the ground.

Workshops have limited capacity in order to live each person ample time to fully integrate
the mind, body and spirit with the horses.  We work with a full set of the  Crystal Bowls in the Amber to Indigo workshop and integrate each  of the seven chakras with the Way of the Horse.  For more information see: Sound Therapy.

The retreat provides a wonderfully reflective adventure as you begin your inner journey to balance and personal joy.  We start with the layers of Amber to find that quiet still voice within as we tap into the Wisdom of the Horse.  The Amber layers focus on the first through fourth energy centers/chakras understanding and valuing emotions, our sense of security, honor in relationships, care of oneself, self confidence, personal honor and self responsibility.

Incorporated into this retreat is a day of integration between the Amber to Indigo layers of Inner Balance.  It is your personal time to journal, spend time gently in nature and allow the inner assimilation of the deep work you have done. 

Indigo

The following days you enter the next layers of your inner journey to Indigo.  We continue into the 5th, 6th and 7th energy centers working with our sense of choice and strength of intention, personal expression, sense of inner peace, and the use of personal power to create.  This retreat supports deep honor between ourselves and other beings in the sacred dance of life as we clear resistance, enhance faith and inspiration, and open new doors to creative talents and joy.

In the event of cancellation, every effort will be made to fill canceled space from the waiting list but due to the limited capacity, deposits are non-refundable if we are unable to do due so. A registration must be submitted in order to confirm space in the workshops.  After registration and tuition are received, you will get a confirmation of space via email.

Healthy Balance

 The Way of the Horse

Designed specifically for Healing Practitioners and those in the healing field.   The Healthy Balance Series is designed to support the life-force of the caregiver through personal and professional growth facilitated by horses.

MAHEC is recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors.  We adhere to NBCC continuing Education Guidelines (Provider #5514).

Being herd and prey animals, they are adept at perceiving subtle shifts in energy, movement and emotion in their environment.  Because of this sensitivity, horses are skilled at responding to the inner experiences of those around them, mirroring emotions, feelings, and thoughts, both conscious and unconscious.  This gathering and the experiential work with horses combines uniquely designed exercises done on foot with horses.

Prior experience with a horse is not required.  All experiential work is done safely from the ground and qualifies for the introductory level Epona work prerequisite for more advanced programs.  Horse professionals, novices and those who have not been around a horse before can all benefit from this powerful work.

$1,100 6-day workshop

Horse Centered Reiki Certification

This workshop allows the participant to explore their connection to humans and horses through this ancient and gentle healing practice of Reiki.  You will learn about Reiki healing energy, hand positions for Reiki self care, and Reiki treatment protocol.  We will also learn about the horses energy system, easy massage strokes, body language and Reiki Undo, a moving meditation. 
The unique design of this program integrates the Way of the Horse for healers enhancing the simultaneous inner awareness of self and the sacred energy connection to others.  The horses will join in ceremony with you as you journey into this healing path; working with the Universal Life Force
and connection to all that is.

The Epona Workshops for Advanced Human Development  are experientially based in The Epona ApproachTM   and teachings of Linda Kohanov author of Tao of Equus a( woman's journey to healing and transformation),  Riding Between the Worlds (expanding human potential) and her newest book Way of the Horse: Equine Archetypes for Self-Discovery  Epona Ridge workshops are facilitated by Barbara Alexander, Epona Ridge Founder and Director, Reiki Master and Epona Approved Instructor, authorized to use The Epona ApproachTM in facilitating Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning (EFEL) programs.  All of the following workshops fulfill the introductory requirements for more advanced work with Epona.
